Snowing again..
Oh dear, we have snow again in Woking - it seems to be quite thick but luckily it isn't settling .. yet. Fingers crossed that it won't break the trains tomorrow!

Watching District 9..
I'm watching the movie District 9 on UMD video, on the Sony PSP. Although I'm not a big fan of the docu-drama format, the plot is actually very good. Not being a Hollywood "drama" it has a gritty, unpleasant realism: highly recommended! More later when I've finished watching!

MPs: No Trace Of Any Moral Fibre Whatsoever..
I find it indefensible that the 4 politicians about to be brought to trial in a criminal court are now hiding behind a 300-year-old law - Parliamentary Privilege - that effectively gives MPs protection from civil or criminal liability for actions and statements made in relation to their duties. I find it indefensible that these self-serving parasites are giving the finger to the British Public and still pretending to govern us. I find it indefensible that these worthless creatures are standing for..

The Biker protest had a strong message..
I'm now back in the pub after attending the biker protest at Millbank Tower. I must say, that was quite a walk from Romney Street SW1 back to Trafalgar Square: I was eating a sausage sandwich when I got the SMS that the pack would be starting off from Trafalgar Square so I hot-footed it up there to find maybe.a hundred bikes or so, ready to move off. The few police that were there looked quite alarmed and some of the youngest PCSOs I'd ever seen were nervously helping (kinda) marshall the pack to somewhere else that wasn't the 'Square. I took some shots, revelled in the bike atmosphere and started the long walk back to Millbank. The buses were making it as difficult as they could for the bikers but the riders, clearly used to traffic out-manoeuvered them, sounding horns in protest as they rode off. I managed..

Anti bike parking tax protest London..
I'm here at Millbank at a biker protest against a new parking tax. I followed them from Trafalgar Square on foot and now they're parked up outside Millbank Tower for a speech. More pix later!

Woking road works..
I was talking to my barber this morning about the alleged gas main repairs on Woking's Victoria Road: their shop is right outside so they get the gossip from the workmen. Well it turns out that there is a gas repair taking place but..

Future UK power problems and a coincidence..
I find it very coincidental, or maybe convenient that the recent denunciation of the Global Warming crisis - or is that non-crisis - is quickly followed by the shock announcement that the UK will surely run out of reliable electrical power over the next few decades. Far be it from me to make the connection..

Get your priorities right!..
As the combined might of our political parties starts rolling toward the next General Election, its interesting to note that although the country is visibly and inexorably plunging into a constitutional and financial black hole, the 2 main parties are still concerned with style over substance. So much so in fact that I'm wondering whether these people..

Gas main repairs at Woking..
The gas main repairs at Woking under the Victoria Bridge continue this week. I don't know what was wrong but the whole of one side of the road has been dug up, and the lack of a pedestrian crossing renders crossing the road hazardous. Hopefully they'll be finished by the time I take the car in for the MOT so I don't have to sit in traffic for hours!

Please tidy up after yourselves..
The banal and frankly patronising recorded announcements on SWT's trains continue to irk me this week with the suggestion that we now have to take on the role of unpaid cleaners. We're being told to "clear up newspapers" as well as keeping our feet off the seats, looking out for suspicious or unattended items, not annoying fellow passengers with music (some people don't need to play music to be annoying!) or bringing cycles on board. Now I wouldn't mind so much but i'm not a bloody teenager, so stop bloody treating me like one! And for the price you're charging for my ticket you should be able to afford an army of cleaners.

We're Watching..
I had to laugh over the New Year period when a new billboard poster sponsored by the Surrey Police appeared at the entrance to the seedier area of Guildford. "We're watching" .. it stated, and showed a somewhat exasperated copper watching the silhouette of some random chav swilling from a bottle of booze. The cherry on the cake though was the bare-faced lie that "People that commit anti-social behaviour will be brought to justice"!..

Welcome to February..
February already? Well, it's absolutely freezing here and has been since Saturday, when V's car battery decided enough was enough and declined to spin her starter motor. Even mine was a bit reluctant to start but hopefully the long runs at the weekend would charge it up a bit. V's battery has been on charge overnight so we'll see if it works when I refit it later.. So, February; what's coming up? Well, tomorrow we'll be..
